Rapid Prototyping And The Aerospace Industries
Aerospace prototyping is an important part of the industry. As in many other industries, engineers face unique challenges when developing new concepts. They must consider engineering constraints, manufacturing limitations, lead times, and manufacturing costs. Without a debugging phase, it may be impossible to coordinate all of these factors for immediate production.
The advances in rapid prototyping in the aerospace industry are obvious and welcome. Aircraft engineers must comply with important regulatory requirements to meet the demands of the industry. Without aerospace prototyping, it would be more difficult to exceed consumer or industry expectations. At the same time, eliminating the RP process could put some companies at risk. They could end up developing designs that are worthless.
